A few weeks back, we praised Donald Fagen for coming up with the title of the box set that spans his entire solo career: CHEAP XMAS: DONALD FAGEN COMPLETE. Now we’re going to praise him again – although we’ll pat ourselves on the back a little bit, too – because in addition to the 5-CD version of the set, there’s now also a 7-LP version of the set.

If you know someone who’s a Fagen fanboy but hasn’t gotten around to picking up all of his solo albums, then this is a perfect bit of one-stop shopping. And even if you’re a fan who does have those four albums – which are, for the record, THE NIGHTFLY, KAMAKIRIAD, MORPH THE CAT, and SUNKEN CONDOS – there’s still something here to help sell you on picking up a copy: 10 EXTRAS, which features 10 solo Fagen songs that aren’t on any of the aforementioned albums.

Oh, and there’s something else special for the vinyl aficionados: this set offers the first-ever SUNKEN CONDOS release on black vinyl.
