Now Available: The Monkees, Good Times!

You may not know this, since it’s hardly gotten any press at all, but we released a new Monkees album today.

We know we’re most likely completely blindsiding you with this information, as it’s only been discussed in Rolling Stone, The New York Times, and basically every print and online publication that covers pop culture in even the slightest capacity, so our apologies if we’ve startled you. If you feel like you need to sit down for a moment, we’d understand.

Produced by Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne fame, GOOD TIMES! came about as a way of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Monkees, but it soon grew into an album which has been called the best thing the group has ever recorded, and while some might call that hyperbole, we’re not going to argue with them. It’s the Monkees album you never knew you needed, but once you’ve heard it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Here’s the full track listing:

1. Good Times (a posthumous duet between Micky and Harry Nilsson
2. You Bring the Summer (written by Andy Partridge)
3. She Makes Me Laugh (written by Rivers Cuomo)
4. Our Own World (written by Adam Schlesinger)
5. Gotta Give It Time (written by Jeff Barry and Joey Levine)
6. Me & Magdalena (written by Ben Gibbard)
7. Whatever's Right (written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart)
8. Love to Love (written by Neil Diamond, sung by the late, great Davy Jones)
9. Little Girl (written and sung by Peter)
10. Birth of an Accidental Hipster (written by Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller)
11. Wasn't Born to Follow (written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King)
12. I Know What I Know (written and sung by Mike)
13. I Was There (And I'm Told I Had A Good Time) (written by Micky and Adam Schlesinger)

Will you find good times from listening to GOOD TIMES! ? You bet you will.
