Out Now: Deep Purple, A FIRE IN THE SKY: THE BEST OF DEEP PURPLE

Back on September 15, Rhino released A FIRE IN THE SKY: THE BEST OF DEEP PURPLE in two different editions: a single-disc version featuring 20 songs and focusing predominantly on the band’s singles, and a three-disc version featuring 40 songs and including at least one track from every studio album the band has released from their inception all the way up through 2013’s NOW WHAT?!

What they did not release on September 15, however, was a vinyl version of this top-notch compilation. Fortunately, as of today, that situation has been remedied.

Now available through your favorite music retailer, the three-LP edition of A FIRE IN THE SKY features 27 songs, including the single edit version of "Woman From Tokyo," the U.S. single edit for "Burn," and the radio edit of "Bad Attitude." No, the track listing isn’t identical to the three-disc version, as you no doubt deduced from the total number of songs coming up 13 short, but it’s a powerful distillation of the best stuff from that set, and it sounds fantastic on vinyl.
