We’re deep into Rocktober at this point – if you haven’t been checking out our weekly posts about the new vinyl reissues we’ve been releasing each week, then you’ve been missing out – but that doesn’t mean we don’t still have some more stuff heading your way before we wrap up the month. In fact, one of the coolest reissues of this Rocktober is coming up this Friday.

Come on, let’s rock and roll with the Ramones! But not just the Ramones, mind you.

Yes, Rhino is reissuing the soundtrack to the band’s lone starring cinematic vehicle, Rock ‘n’ Roll High School, but just because the bruddahs Ramone were the stars of the show doesn’t mean that they were the only ones on the soundtrack. Among the others whose tunes can be found on the grooves of this reissue are Nick Lowe, Brian Eno, Devo, Eddie & The Hot Rods, Brownsville Station, Chuck Berry, Todd Rundgren, Alice Cooper, The Paley Brothers duetting with the Ramones on “Come On Let’s Go,” and P.J. Soles singing the title track for the film.

The 140-gram reissue is being pressed on tri-colored vinyl – red, orange, and yellow – but it’s being described as “fire-colored,” doubtlessly as a tribute to the explosion when the boys in the band assist in blowing up the school. Awesome, right? Just don’t forget that, like all of these other Rocktober releases, it’s a limited-edition situation, so when Friday rolls around, don’t hesitate to run grab your copy as soon as possible!
