Led Zeppelin - The Complete BBC Sessions
Led Zeppelin was no stranger to the studios of the British Broadcasting Corporation, where most of U.K. rock's greatest artists of the 1960s and '70s cut otherwise unavailable recordings. Nearly 20 years ago, the legendary hard rock quartet issued a double-disc set of their BBC output which went double-Platinum, and THE COMPLETE BBC SESSIONS builds on that collection with a third disc that boasts eight previously unavailable performances. Among these are the debut of a long-lost, near-mythic session from April 1969 (including "I Can't Quit You Baby," "You Shook Me," and the only recorded performance of "Sunshine Woman") and two previously unreleased versions of both "Communication Breakdown" and "What Is And What Should Never Be." According to guitarist Jimmy Page, who remastered the new set, "The BBC Sessions show in graphic detail just how organic the group was. Led Zeppelin was a band that would change things around substantially each time it played … .We were becoming tighter and tighter, to the point of telepathy."
