Live At The Royal Albert Hall

Emerson Lake & Palmer

Keyboardist Keith Emerson, guitarist Greg Lake and drummer Carl Palmer were kings of progressive rock, so it's only fitting that this 1993 concert album was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall. ELP's comeback album BLACK MOON inspired their triumphant return to London, and while the set list includes a few songs from that collection, the bulk of LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL's 70-minute running time is devoted to virtuoso performances of crowd-pleasers from the trio's 1970s heyday: “Knife-Edge,” “Lucky Man” “Pirates” and a suite from “Tarkus,” with an epic-length "Finale" to close the show. Released 25 years ago today, LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL captures the Emerson, Lake and Palmer reunion on a great night and with excellent fidelity.
