THE MOB RULES // HEAVEN AND HELL

It was Sharon Arden (who would go on to become Sharon Osbourne) who innocently introduced Dio to Tony Iommi in 1979, setting the wheels in motion for the epic collaboration that brought together these music titans. The two rockers ran into each other again at the famous Rainbow Bar & Grill on Sunset later on that same year, and the rest is history. At the time, Dio was famous in hard rock and heavy metal circles for his work with Ritchie Blackmore and Rainbow. When he got together with Iommi to work on music, the spark was immediate.

The union would result in two of the most beloved studio efforts in both Black Sabbath and Ronnie James Dio's respective catalogs. Heaven and Hell was released in April 1980, peaking at #28 on the Billboard 200. Mob Rules followed in 1981, climbing as high as #29 on the album chart.

Available as 2CD or 2LP sets on March 5, each album will be newly remastered and paired with a bonus disc featuring rare and unreleased recordings. Highlights include original B-sides and live material - some of which has never been released, like a concert recorded in Portland, Oregon in 1982 that will accompany Mob Rules.

Get the rock 'n' roll party started by pre-ordering the deluxe editions and cranking up the first two treats from the collections: a rare live version of "Heaven and Hell," and a previously unreleased live version of "The Mob Rules."
