Aquarium Drunkard Presents: Gospel & The Delta Blues...and Beyond
Ease back. In the late '00s, I spent 2.5 months in the alluvial plain known as the Mississippi Delta working on a travelogue/guide book in an effort to document the region's fading blues history and its associated landmarks. A truly incredible journey. I was recently asked to speak about the book and how the Delta has changed since the book's (still recent) publication in 2009. Looking back at my notes and photographs led to this week's playlist, one which draws heavily from the Delta and associated sounds.
